The only jack on the SDS100 is the headphone jack which has very limited power so you don't blow your eardrums out. Of course that speaker will also require power. The headphone jack on the sds100 has the lowest output of any scanner I have ever had. I have had lots of scanners in my time. Like 25-50% faster plowing through conventional channels, or 100-120 channels/second vs 80 for the x36. The screen is much clearer than the displays of the x36 scanners. I am new to the Uniden SDS100 and SDS200. I have one of each; the 100 for the truck and the 200 with a mast-mounted Discone for beside my chair.
